The 23rd March Pakistan Day Parade has been postponed and will now be held on Thursday March 25th.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the parade has been postponed on accounts of ‘bad weather’.
The Joint Services Pakistan Day Parade will now be held on 25th March, 2021 as per program and timings already specified, said ISPR.
The Pakistan Day Parade is held to commemorate 1940 Pakistan Resolution presented by Allama Iqbal which laid the foundation of a separate Muslim homeland in the Indian sub-continent.
The day is marked by a 31-gun salute in Islamabad with 21-gun salutes in provincial capitals. Pakistan Day Parade includes fly-past demonstrations by Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jets along with march-past by contingents of Pakistan Army, PAF and Pakistan Navy.
Furthermore, floats representing Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are also part of the parade and reflect nation’s rich and diverse.
The parade is also attended by foreign delegates, ambassadors and representatives of military officials of various countries.
