Pakistan commemorated 94th anniversary of founding of China’s Peoples’ Liberation Army (PLA) in an auspicious ceremony held at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi on Thursday a day earlier.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPS), the ceremony to mark 94th anniversary of PLA’s was attended by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa as the Chief Guest.
The event was also attended by China’s Ambassador to Pakistan – Nong Rong, Defence Attaché – Major General Chen Wenrong, officials from Chinese Embassy along with officers from Pakistan’s tri-services.
Addressing the event, Chinese Defence Attaché Maj Gen Chen Wenrong exressed gratitude to COAS General Bajwa for commemorating PLA’s 94th anniversary.
China and Pakistan are iron brothers, all-weather friends and strategic partners…No matter how the world situation changes we will always stand together in safeguarding our national sovereignty, territorial integrity and maintaining regional peace and stability, said Maj Gen Chen Wenrong.
Meanwhile Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa congratulated the Chinese leadership and praised PLA’s contribution towards China’s defence, security and nation building.
Pakistan China relationship is unique and robust that has proved its resilience in the face of challenges, said COAS General Bajwa.
Lamenting on the significance of Pak-China relations and cooperation, COAS Bajwa noted that the partnership between two countries is increasingly becoming important for regional peace and stability… PLA and Pakistan are brothers in arms and our relationship will continue to contribute towards safeguarding our collective interests.
