The air forces of Pakistan and China have begun their joint exercise titled ‘Shaheen-IX’ at an operational air base of Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
As per details, a contingent of People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) is in Pakistan to conduct joint air exercise with their Pakistani counterpart PAF.
The Chinese contingent comprises of pilots, air defence controllers and technical ground crew.
The opening ceremony of the exercise was jointly witnessed by Air Vice Marshall Waqas Ahmed Sulehri, DCAS (Ops), PAF and Maj Gen Sun Hong, Assistant Chief of Staff, PLAAF.
Expressing his views, the Chinese Air Force commander noted that the exercise will improve actual level of combat training and strengthen co-op between two Air Forces.
Meanwhile Air Vice Marshall Waqas Ahmed Sulehri said that the joint air exercise will enhance interoperability of both Air Forces, thereby fortifying brotherly relations between the two countries.
Shaheen-IX is the ninth joint exercise between air forces of Pakistan and China under the ‘Shaheen’ series which was first conducted back in 2011.
