Pakistan has once again warned India against taking any unilateral steps regarding Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
In a statement, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri – FO spokesperson, cautioned India against any further actions in the disputed valley linking it to ‘regional peace and security’.
We have deep concern over the recent reports indicating Indian machinations for further division, bifurcation and demographic changes in the IIOJK to perpetuate its illegal occupation, remarked the FO Spokesperson.
Pakistan has urged India to revisit its unlawful and destabilizing actions in IIOJK and ensure full compliance with the UNSC Resolutions on the issue, he added.
Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri also reiterated that Pakistan would continue to resolutely oppose Indian attempts to change the demographic structure and status of IIOJK as a disputed territory.
The FO spokesperson also accentuated that Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has written to UNSC President and UN Secretary General regarding Pakistan’s concerns pertaining to the deteriorating situation in the disputed valley.
Pakistan has duly played its role and will continue to do so by reminding the UN Security Council of its responsibility for peaceful and just settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UNSC resolutions, added Chaudhri.
We call upon the international community, including the United Nations, international human rights and humanitarian organizations, global media and world parliaments to take immediate cognizance of the situation, read the press-release issued by MoFA.
