Pakistan on Monday (today) categorically rejected ‘baseless’ allegations made by Afghan leadership and conveyed its serious concerns to the Afghan ambassador.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Pakistan has conveyed its serious concerns to the Afghan side by making a strong demarche with the Ambassador of Afghanistan in Islamabad on the recent irresponsible statements and baseless allegations made by the Afghan leadership.
Groundless accusations erode trust and vitiate the environment between the two brotherly countries and disregard constructive role being played by Pakistan in facilitating the Afghan peace process, added the MoFA press-release.
Pakistan has urged Afghanistan to effectively utilize the available forums like Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS) to address all bilateral issues.
It is pertinent to know that COAS General Bajwa, accompanied by accompanied by DG ISI on the day-long visit to the neighboring country, met with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani to mull over regional security situation and ongoing Afghan Peace Process on May 10th last week.
During his day-long visit, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa once again termed peaceful Afghanistan is an essential prerequisite to regional peace. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s continuing support for ‘Afghan Led-Afghan Owned’ Peace Process based on mutual consensus of all stakeholders.
