A Pakistan Army contingent on Saturday, participated in in opening ceremony of multinational military exercise, Kavkaz 2020, held at Astrakhan region, Russia.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the multinational military exercise named ‘Kavkaz 2020’ will take place from September 21st to September 26th.
“The exercise aims at assessing ability of troops to react to various challenges and learn from each other’s experiences,” ISPR tweeted.
The Kavkaz 2020 will have military contingents participating from various countries including China, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Syria, Iran, Egypt, Belarus, Turkey, Armenia, Turkmenistan and Myanmar.
India was initially scheduled to participate in the military exercise, however later refused to participate citing concerns on participation by Chinese and Pakistani military contingents.
