Pakistan on Monday (today), outclassed South Africa by winning the second test match in Rawalpindi, clinching the series win by 2-0.
Pakistan achieved a historic landmark in Rawalpindi test after the Proteas were bowled out at 274 while chasing a target of 370 runs.
South Africa came out to bat on the fifth day of second test match with 243 needed to win with nine wickets in hand.
However, Pakistani pacers Hasan Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi destroying Proteas’ batting lineup and taking five and four wickets each, whereas Yasir Shah bagged one wicket.
Aiden Markram remained the top scorer from the visitors’ side and scored 108 runs.
Hasan Ali bagged ‘man of the match’ award for taking 10 wickets in the match, whereas wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan was named ‘man of the series’ for his unbeaten 115 not out in the second innings of the second test match and praiseworthy performance throughout the series.
Pakistan’s Test Ranking
With the 2-0 series win over South Africa, Pakistan has secured 5th position in the ICC Test Rankings with 90 points. Pakistan was ranked at 7th position prior to the series whitewash.
New Zealand tops the ICC Test Rankings with 118.44 points followed by India, Australia and England with 117,65; 113 and 108 points respectively.

This is Pakistan’s first test series win against South Africa in 18 years after 2003.
