A Pakistan Army soldier was martyred in cross-border firing from Afghanistan on Tuesday (today).
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), a Pakistan Army soldier posted at a military checkpost on Pak-Afghan border was martyred on Tuesday in cross-border firing from the neighboring country.
The martyred soldier has been identified as 24-year-old Sepoy Sabir Shah who was posted at a border checkpost in Bajaur sector.
“Pakistan has been consistently raising the issue for border management on other side to avoid use of Afghanistan soil against Pakistan,” read the statement issued by ISPR.
Pakistan on multiple occasions, has raised its concerns with Afghan authorities over cross-border shelling from Afghan territory.
Prior to this ISPR in a statement, had highlighted that unfortunate rise in violent incidents on both sides of Pak-Afghan Border is meant to derail Afghanistan Peace Process.
