Pakistan Air Force (PAF) released a special rendition of ‘Shaheen-o-Maahi’ on Iqbal Day on Monday (today).
According to Director General Public Relations (DGPR) PAF, to pay homage to Pakistan’s National poetDr Allama Muhammad Iqbal, PAF has released musical rendition of his poem “Shaheen o Maahi.”
“Iqbal’s concept of Shaheen is inspiration for every person in Blues,” said DGPR PAF.
The Song has been sung by Zeb Bangash and has been composed by Sarmad Ghafoor, added the statement issued by DGPR PAF.
Iqbal Day
The birthday of Allama Muhammad Iqbal is marked as Iqbal Day (Youm-e Iqbal), on November 9th in Pakistan.
Sir Muhammad Iqbal, commonly known as Allama Iqbal; was a Muslim poet, philosopher and politician from Punjab. Born on November 9th 1877, Iqbal’s poetry in Urdu and Persian is considered to be among the greatest of the modern era, whereas Iqbal’s vision of an independent state for the Muslims of British India was to inspire the creation of Pakistan.
Allama lqbal was a strong proponent of the political and spiritual revival of Islamic civilization across the world, but specifically in India. He encouraged the creation of a ‘state in northwestern India for Indian Muslims’ in his 1930 presidential address. Known as Muffakir-e-Pakistan (The Thinker of Pakistan), Shair-e-Mashriq (The Poet of the East), and Hakeem-ul-Ummat (The Sage of Ummah), Iqbal is officially recognized as the national poet of Pakistan.
