A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) cargo plane has delivered medical equipment and supplies donated from the Pakistani Armed Forces to the United States.
A PAF C-130 cargo plane, laden with essential medical equipment and supplies such as personal protective equipment (PPEs) and surgical masks donated from Pakistani Armed Forces to the United States as a gesture of support and solidarity amid the disastrous COVID-19 outbreak in US which has reported the highest coronavirus related death toll in the world.
According to details, the PAF plane landed at Andrews Air Force Base, Washington, and was received by David Holloway – Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs, Asad Majeed Khan – Pakistani ambassador to United States and other relevant officials.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo took to social media to express gratitude towards Pakistan’s gesture of delivering essential medical supplies amid virus crisis.
“This delivery is a symbol of U.S.-Pakistan solidarity in the fight against COVID-19,” he tweeted.
It is to be noted that United States has reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases and death toll in the world, with the number of patients reaching more than 1,584,800 with 94,700 deaths so far.
