A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) cargo aircraft, on Tuesday, delivered 16 tonnes of coronavirus related equipment and supplies and landed at Nur Khan air base, Rawalpindi.
As per the details issued by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the 16 tonne cargo consisted of 50 ventilators, 300,000 testing kits, 65,000 N-95 masks and 10,000 surgical masks.
PAF has been at the forefront of Pakistan’s efforts against coronavirus outbreak and has been operating special cargo flights bringing essential medical equipment from various parts of the world.
Prior to this, on May 12, a PAF aircraft carrying 18 tonnes of essential medical equipment which included 46 x-ray machines, 1,77000 Virus Transport Mediums (VTMs), 760,000 RNA extractors and more than 1.1 million face masks landed at Islamabad airport.
Along with cargo operations, PAF has also actively participated in rescuing and airlifting stranded Pakistani citizens in various countries.
