Opposition parties have decided to move a confidence motion against National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser following Tuesday’s brawl on the floor of lower house a day earlier.
Opposition party leaders including Shehbaz Sharif, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, Raja Pervez Ashraf met in Islamabad and agreed to form a committee which will formulate a draft regarding moving a no-confidence motion against NA Speaker Asad Qaiser.
The meeting contented that NA Speaker Asad Qaiser failed to fulfil his constitutional, legal, democratic, and parliamentary responsibilities as the protector of every parliament member.
He has failed in his duties and is not qualified to hold office anymore, concluded the opposition party leaders.
It is pertinent to know that members from both treasury and opposition benches were involved in creating a ruckus and using profane, abusive and unparliamentarily language during the speech of Shehbaz Sharif pertaining to Budget 2021-22.
The situation quickly deteriorated almost reaching to the point of an all-out physical brawl on the house floor forcing the security staff a protective circle around the Opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif as members hurled books and budget copies at each other.
Following the ruckus, NA Speaker Asad Qaiser has barred seven MNAs, including three from his own party PTI for being involved in the brawl and engaging in disorderly conduct and using abusive language on the floor of the house.
