Pakistan’s National Security Advisor (NSA) – Moeed Yusuf met with his US counterpart Jake Sullivan in Washington on Friday (today).
During the meeting, the two mulled over matters of mutual interest along with bilateral, regional and global issues.
According to Moeed Yusuf, the two reviewed the progress made since their Geneva meeting.
Meanwhile, Jake Sullivan stressed upon the urgent need for a reduction in violence in Afghanistan and a negotiated political settlement to the conflict.
The development comes as NSA Moeed Yusufleft for an official visit to the United States on Monday earlier this week.
His visit is part of high-level engagements between the two countries, which were agreed between him and his counterpart Jake Sullivan in their last meeting in Geneva on May 24 earlier this year.
Moeed Yusuf is also expected to hold meetings with other US legislators, the Pakistani community in the US and think tanks.
