Sindh government has refuted the rumors regarding the easing or tightening the lockdown measures stating that no final decision has been made on the future of lockdown measures in the province.
Addressing the issue, Sindh Information Minister – Nasir Hussain Shah stated that no final decision has been made regarding any changes in lockdown measures and that federal government will be consulted before any policy change.
The provincial minister further highlighted the significance of preventive and precautionary measures stating that the virus is still very much present in the population and shopkeepers, customers and anyone who goes out must abide by the SOPs and healthcare guidelines recommended by the government.
“No vaccine for the coronavirus has been invented so far, the only way to avoid it is to take precautions. We will protect not only ourselves but our loved ones as well,” he noted.
Furthermore, Nasir Hussain Shah urged the public to not heed to rumors and fake news regarding coronavirus situation and government policies, and that the public will be duly informed in case of any final decision regarding this issue.
Mr Shah also reaffirmed the business community and transporters that the government is aware of their adverse circumstances and is striving to solve their issues, however it is impossible to reopen everything at once without any proper planning and procedure due to unprecedented situation and circumstances that have emerged due to COVID-19 pandemic.
