A nine-year-old child hailing from Sargodha, Punjab carried out an egregious act on Tuesday when he shot his aunt in an incident of honour killing.
It is being claimed that nine-year-old Najm-ul-Hassan killed his aunt Kanwal Parveen for marrying against the will of the family 10 years ago.
The police claim that Najm-ul-Hassan was brainwashed by the family and was lead to believe that his aunt brought a bad name to the household by marrying on her own accord.
The family had stayed angry on Kanwal Parveen for a decade and called her over for dinner to finally bury the hatchet claiming that they were finally willing to let go of the past and embrace their daughter and accept her decision.
Kanwal was asked to come visit the family on September 14 on the birth of a new child where she was shot and killed by her nephew.
Najm-ul-Hassan was not even born when Kanwal Parveen exercised her right to make an independent decision and marry someone she liked. A case has been registered against the assailant along with those that conspired and trained the child to shoot a gun and kill her aunt.
