Newly appointed Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi.
CNS Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi laid floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered prayers for martyrs of Pakistan.
During the meeting, COAS General Bajwa congratulated the Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi on his appointment as the new Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) of the Pakistan Navy (PN).
The army chief extended best wishes to the new CNS hoping that Pakistan Navy will further improve and reach new heights under latter’s command.

Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi has previously on various senior posts and has commanded two Type-21 ships PNS BADR and PNS TARIQ, He has also served as Commander 18th Destroyer Squadron and Commandant PNS BAHADUR.
He is a graduate of Army Command & Staff College Quetta and National Defence University Islamabad, and is currently serving as Commander Pakistan Fleet.
Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi has been awarded with the French Medal Chevalier (Knight) by the Government of France and has also been conferred with Hilal e Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara e Basalat.
Furthermore, his service history include Principal Secretary to Chief of the Naval Staff, Head of F-22P Mission China, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Training & Evaluation) and Director General Naval Intelligence.
