The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Wednesday, approved Electricity price increase of Rs 1.6 per unit.
As per details, the decision to increase electricity price by Rs 1.6 per unit has been to address the issue of increasing fuel prices for the month of October and November.
For October electricity price has been increased by Rs 0.29 per unit, and Rs 0.77 per unit for November.
Prior to this, NEPRA had approved increase in electricity prices by Rs 1.11 per unit as fuel adjustment charges. The increase was not applicable on K-Electric customers.
Meanwhile, federal government on Tuesday, increased power tariff by up to 18 paisas per unit effective from December 1st. 15 paisas per unit power tariff hike will be applicable for consumers using 300 units of electricity.
Consumers using more than 300 units will be subjected to power tariff of 18 paisas per unit.
The power tariff adjustment will be represented separately in utility bills by XWDISCOs and will be effective from December 1st.
