Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa stressed upon the need to continuously evaluate existing doctrine and strategy to address various emerging threats in different sectors, reported ISPR on Wednesday.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa addressed participants of National Security and War Course (NSWC) – 21 during his visit to National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad.
Upon arrival, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa was received by President NDU – Lieutenant General Muhammad Saeed.
Addressing the participants, COAS accentuated the significance and dire need for continuous evaluation of existing doctrine and corresponding strategy to effectively deal with the evolving threats in various domains.
Dilating upon pon the evolving strategic and regional environment, the Army Chief reiterated that Pakistan stands for peace within and all around, as it looks forward to acting as a bridge between regions.
Expressing his views on Afghanistan, COAS reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Afghan Peace Process and warned that spoilers of peace in Afghanistan risk regional instability.
Sharing his vision for Pakistan Army, the COAS termed professionalism, competence and devotion to duty as hall mark of Pakistan Army and emphasized on realistic and futuristic training for maintaining perpetual operational readiness.
Force modernization and induction of advanced technologies are imperative for maintaining qualitative edge over adversary, said the Army Chief.
COAS noted that well-equipped, well trained and motivated Army having unwavering support of its people can surmount any challenge.
General Bajwa once again also expressed resolute support to the people of IIOJ&K, COAS stressed upon a peaceful and durable solution of Kashmir issue in line with relevant UN resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people.
The Army Chief felicitated he participants on successful completion of their course, advising them to stay focused on attaining professional excellence while remaining abreast with revolutionary advancements in warfare which are redefining national security.
