Around 240 stranded Pakistanis landed in Peshawar after being repatriated from Qatar via a Qatar Airways special flight.
As per the details, a Qatar Airways flight QR 602 brought back more than 240 stranded Pakistani citizens from Qatar and landed at Peshawar airport on Friday.
Upon arriving, the airplane was disinfected while all the passengers were screened for COVID-19 symptoms, and have been moved to a quarantine facility as per the basic SOPs for people arriving from abroad.
According to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), out of the total 1200 passengers who recently landed at the Peshawar airport, around 200 have tested positive for COVID-19, while 700 still await their test results.
A CAA chief medical officer and two supervisors are also among the people diagnosed with coronavirus.
Earlier, around 250 stranded Pakistani nationals were brought back from Qatar via a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) special flight that landed at Multan airport on Thursday.
It is to be noted that thousands of Pakistani citizens have been left stranded in various countries due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, who are eventually being brought back via special flight operations conducted by PIA and few other airlines.
