The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), on Wednesday, introduced its helpline for plasma donations amid coronavirus crisis in the country.
According to NDMA spokesperson, coronavirus patients who have recovered from the disease contact at the helpline at 0304-111-01-61 for plasma donation.
Furthermore, the NDMA spokesperson revealed that the helpline will be open 24/7 and the donor’s name and other personal information will be kept confidential.
It is to be noted, that Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Zafar Mirza on Tuesday had announced that government has established various plasma donation centers across the country.

People have been told to donate plasma at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad, Rawalpindi Medical University, Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar, Khwaja Safdar Medical College Hospital in Sialkot, University of Health Sciences in Lahore, Pakistan Kidney Liver Institute in Lahore, Regional Blood Centre Sukkur, and People’s University of Medical and Health Sciences in Nawabshah.
Plasma – which is rich in antibodies, is taken from the blood of patients who have already recovered from the disease and can help other patients recover substantially at a faster rate than with various traditional treatments
