The National Command and Operation Center in its meeting on Tuesday has announced the finalization of its recommendations for resuming industries and business operations in the country according to agreed phases.
The meeting was held in Islamabad with Planning Minister Asad Umar in the chair and other government officials and ministers in attendance.
Recommendations will be presented to the National Coordination Committee for approval.
Ministry of Science and Technology, Drug Regulation Authority of Pakistan and National University of Science and Technology have been directed to share the current status of development of testing kits within two days. It was also told during the meeting that Pakistan Engineering Council is developing five types of ventilators and eight designs have been submitted for approval. It was said clinical trials of these ventilators have started.
Ministry of Interior was asked to take Ulemas into consultation to prepare a draft of guidelines for Ramazan which should cover holding Taraweeh and usual prayers, Ramazan congregations, Jumma Bazaars during the holy month, distribution of food and collection of Fitrana.

Regarding railways, the meeting was told that seven trains have been converted into hospitals and isolation wards, while 26 trains are available for plying across the country. Besides, 48 Railways hospitals are available, including 12 major hospitals and 36 small dispensaries.
It was said that 1950 passengers will be brought back and three months are required to bring back all stranded Pakistanis. It recommended that all passengers will be quarantined as per health guidelines at locations of arrival. Seven international airports, except Sialkot, will be operating to bring back stranded Pakistani nationals.
The Ministry of Interior was asked to issue notifications for the closure of borders for another two weeks with effect from the date of expiry of previous notifications. It recommended that Wagah Border will remain closed from 16th to 29th of this month, western border with Afghanistan and Iran from 13th to 26th of this month, and Kartarpur Corridor from 11th to 24th of this month.
