National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has extended closure of educational institutions till June 23 in wake of prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country.
According to NCOC, educational institutions will remain closed till May 23 in wake of prevailing third COVID-19 wave in the country.
The forum will review the COVID-19 situation on May 18th to decide over the future of educational institutions.
The development comes as earlier, NCOC had announced its decision to close educational institutions till May 17th. The government has also suspended all examinations till June 15th including matric and intermediate board examinations.
In Today’s NCOC session, it is decided that in view of ongoing disease trends, education institutes earlier closed till 17th May will continue to remain closed till 23rd May 21. Review will be carried out on 18th May 21.

It is to be noted that government has announced to impose a strict lockdown from May 8th to May 16th
As per the new government restrictions all markets, business activities, public places, shopping malls, recreational spots will remain closed during this time period.
However, essential services including grocery stores, pharmacies/medical stores, medical facilities and vaccination centers, vegetables, fruit, chicken, and meat shops, bakeries, petrol pumps, food takeaways and E-Commerce (home delivery), utility Services (electricity, natural gas, internet, cellular networks/telecom, call centers) and media are exempted from the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.
