Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s passport is set to expire on Tuesday (today) with no prospects of being renewed, said Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.
In a statement, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has apprised that former Prime Minister and PML-N’s supremo Nawaz Sharif’s passport is set to expire on Tuesday (today).
Interior Minister noted that if Nawaz Sharif will be allowed to come back to Pakistan if he intends to do so and the government can grant him the permission within 72 hours.
However, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed clarified that Nawaz Sharif’s passport cannot be renewed as his name is listed in the Exit Control List (ECL).
It is pertinent to know that PML-N supremo and former prime minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif is currently in United Kingdom (UK) ever since he was granted an eight-week bail on medical grounds in October 2019.
Pakistan has approached British government seeking extradition of Nawaz Sharif who has also been declared absconder in various cases by Pakistani courts.
