The National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) on Thursday, warned off terrorist attacks in Peshawar, Quetta ahead of PDM rallies.
NACTA has warned that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is orchestrating terrorist attacks in Peshawar and Quetta ahead of public show of power by 11-party opposition alliance under PDM (Pakistan Democratic Movement) in Quetta on October 25.
Furthermore, NACTA has urged the provision of additional security for religious and political leaders in these two cities and TTP is likely to target them to spur unrest and instability in Pakistan.
Chief secretaries of all the provinces, including those of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir have been duly notified of the terror alert.
The development comes as security forces seized huge cache of explosives, eight bombs weighing six to eight kilograms, remote control, detonators, ball bearings, wires and a bag full of material used to make improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from Qamaruddin Karez area from Balochistan’s Zhob district on Thursday, earlier today.
