The National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) has issued a threat alert for Karachi, warning of major terrorist attack in the metropolis.
NACTA has warned in its notification that terrorists might target any sensitive installation, building, infrastructure in Karachi.
An explosive laden vehicle has already been prepared for this purpose. However, no specific details regarding the possible target has been revealed.
“It has been informed that HIAs are planning to carry out VBIED attack against an unspecified/high profile building in Karachi in near future. Reconnaissance of the target and necessary preparation has already been complemented. VBIED has been prepared at unidentified location in/out skirts of Karachi” read the notification addressed to Home Secretary Sindh, Provincial Officer Sindh, and DG Rangers Sindh.
Sources say that foreign enemy agencies are involved in planning of terrorist attacks in Karachi.
