National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had successfully recovered Rs 21 billion in fake back accounts case via securing a plea bargain.
As per details, NAB approved a plea bargain on Tuesday (today) with Ahsan Illahi – one of the accused in fake bank accounts case.
Ahsan Illahi, who is a builder has agreed to submit Rs 21 billion to the accountability watchdog as part of the agreed plea bargain.
Meanwhile, Rs 300 million have also been returned/refunded to the 356 affectees who were scammed by the illegal housing society
Mr Illahi had illegally occupied land belonging from Pakistan Steel Mills and Sindh government, and had planned to set up a residential society after paying Rs 35 million to DG SBCA.
Chairman NAB Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal has approved the plea bargain deal with Mr Ahsan Illahi.
It is pertinent to know that a total 172 people have been named in fake bank accounts case including PPP Chairman BIlawal Bhutto Zardari, his father and former president Asif Ali Zardari and several other senior PPP leaders such as Faryal Talpur, Qaim Ali Shah Sohail Anwar Sial and others.
