The Accountability Court, on Monday, postponed the proceedings on former president Asif Ali Zardari’s indictment in Park Lane Case.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court judge, heard the exemption pleas of Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur, and adjourned judicial proceedings on several references including Pink Residency and Nehr-e-Khayyam illegal allotment cases till June 11 due to COVID-19 crisis.
Defence lawyer, Mr Latif Khosa appealed to the court to fix the case hearing after Eid ul Fitr.
It is pertinent to know that the Park Lane Case has been registered against Mr Zardari and Ms Talpur under National Accountability Ordinance, 1999, and the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2010.
Prior to this, on November 12, the court had rejected Asif Ali Zardari’s appeal for his transfer to Karachi for medical treatment. The court then also extended Mr Zardari’s and Ms Faryal Talpur’s judicial remand till November 26 in the money laundering through fake bank accounts case.
