Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader, Mustafa Nawaz Khokar has stepped down as Bilawal Bhutto’s spokesperson on Saturday (today).
The veteran PPP leader who is also the Chairman Senate Committee on Human Rights, took to social media to announce his decision to resign from the position of spokesperson for party chairman Bilawal Bhutto.
“I have resigned from the position of spokesperson to the chairman, not from PPP. Will stand by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari through thick and thin. In my years as his spokesperson, have given counsel with honesty, sincerity and in the best interests of the country and the party,” he tweeted.
He also apologized to fellow party members and media personnel for not being able to attend to their calls, messages.
Also sincere apologies to friends in party, media and otherwise who were concerned and couldn’t take their calls or reply to their messages. Needed time to think over things, he said.
The development comes as earlier; PPP media cell had denied the rumors regarding his resignation.
Mustafa Nawaz Khokar Khokhar was elected to the Senate of Pakistan as a candidate of PPP on general seat from Sindh in 2018 Senate election.
He was serving as official spokesperson for party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
No specific reason has been mentioned for his resignation so far.
