In the midst of the pandemic, two major religions Christianity and Islam join hands to fight Coronavirus in Ethiopia.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed directed TV channels to broadcast religious lectures and lead prayers by religious leaders of both faiths.
Churches and mosques have suspended their services all around the country until the situation gets better.
“It is within this spirit we are participating in the televised payer and spreading awareness.” Sheik Abdelaziz Mohammad, the Imam of Bilal Al Habashi mosque said
The motive behind this initiative is to let people pray from homes and prevent any religious gatherings.

The government has reserved one hour slot in the evening for both the religious groups on government-led channels.
