Sindh police have identified Mushtaq Sehtu as the mastermind behind journalist Aziz Memon’s murder, here on Friday.
Additional Inspector General of Police Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon addressed a presser on Friday that the mastermind behind journalist Aziz Memon’s murder has been identified as Mushtaq Sehtu.
Addressing a press conference in Nawabshah on Friday, he said that the suspect’s DNA has matched and he has confessed of killing the journalist. He added that the suspect murdered Aziz Memon over an enmity.
The AIG maintained that three suspects have been arrested while efforts are underway to nab five others for their involvement in the case.
He maintained that during interrogation, Sehtu revealed the names of his accomplices. “I could not disclose the names of other accused as it will hinder the investigation process,” the police official said.
On February 17, 2020, body of a local journalist, Aziz Memon, was found in a water channel in Mehrabpur. The body was recovered from Gaddo Branch with a wire tied around the neck, showing signs of strangulation.
On the day of the incident, Aziz had asked a cameraman he worked with to drop him at a place where he was to attend a ceremony. Later, the villagers spotted his body floating in the canal.
