Murree’s iconic Punjab House has been transferred to Kohsar University which will now be using it as its campus.
As per details, Board of Revenue has issued a notification handing over Murree’s Punjab House which spans across 98 kanals, to Kohsar University Murree.
The decision to convert Punjab House into University has been made in light of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision regarding use of government infrastructure, assets solely for public interests.
MNA Sadaqat Ali Abbasi has said that the Punjab House compound will be handed over to Kohsar University’s Tourism Department.
Kohsar University primarily caters to the people of Murree, Hazara, Kotli Satyan and Azad Kashmir.
According to details, classrooms will be established in one block of Punjab House, whereas the rest will cater to tourists under university administration.
The university will offer degrees in various fields including Management Sciences, Pure Sciences, Accountancy, History, Law, Forestry and Horticulture.
