Four Pakistan Air Force (PAF) officials have been promoted to air-vice marshal rank, confirmed the press-release issued by the PAF on Friday a day earlier.
As per details, the PAF officers promoted to the rank of air-vice marshal include Air Vice-Marshal Muhammad Irfan, Air Vice-Marshal Salman Abbas Shah, Air Vice-Marshal Asad Amir Pirzada and Air Vice-Marshal Khalid Mehmood.
Air Vice-Marshal Muhammad Irfan secured commission in PAF’s Engineering Branch back in May 1991. During his more than two decades in PAF, he has most notably served as Deputy Managing Director JF-17 project at Kamra.
He has been bestowed with Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and has also served as Deputy Managing Director Avionics Production Factory, Kamra.
Air Vice-Marshal Salman Abbas Shah was also commissioned in PAF’s Engineering Branch in May 1991. Over the course of his prestigious career he has served as Managing Director of the Mirage Rebuild Factory, Kamra.
Apart from commanding an engineering wing, Air Vice-Marshal Salman Abbas Shah has also served Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Aircraft Engineering) at Air Headquarters, Islamabad.
He too is a recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military).
Meanwhile, Air Vice-Marshal Asad Amir Pirzada too secured commission in PAF’s Engineering Branch in 1991 and has since served as Director Network Bases at Air Headquarters, Islamabad, and Commandant CAE PAF Academy, Asghar Khan.
He has been awarded with Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) for his services for the nation.
Air Vice-Marshal Khalid Mehmood was commissioned in the GD (P) Branch of the PAF in May 1991. During his service in PAF, he has commanded a fighter squadron, a flying wing, and an operational airbase. Like his other three peers, he is also been awarded with Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military).
