Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has said that Muharram moon is likely to be sighted on August 20.
According to PMD, Muharram 1,442 AH is likely to be sighted on August 20 and that it will be born at 7:42 pm on August 19 according to Pakistan Standard Time (PST).
PMD predicts the weather to remain partly cloudy as the Muharram moon is expected to be sighted on 29th of Zilhaj (August 20 Thursday).
Meanwhile Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is already scheduled to meet on August 20 for Muharram moon sighting of year 1,442 AH.
It is to be noted that the government has been actively cooperating and consulting with religious leaders and clerics to formulate and implement COVID-19 preventive SOPs and guidelines for religious gatherings and events in the month of Muharram.
