Two special flights, one operated by special flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and another by a foreign airline, brought back more than 400 Pakistani citizens stranded in Saudi Arabia and Dubai, on late Thursday night.
As per the details, a PIA flight brought back 249 stranded Pakistanis from Riyadh and landed at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on Thursday night.
The flight also brought back the dead bodies of four deceased Pakistani nationals who had died due to coronavirus in Saudi Arabia.
Upon landing all the passengers were screened and then shifted to quarantine centres established at various hotels, as per the standard guidelines and SOPs issued by the government.
43 passengers were shifted to Hotel One Garden Town, 50 to Kala Shah Kaku Hostel Campus, 50 to Virsa Hotel, 67 to OBAN Hotel and 21 to Pearl Continental (PC) Hotel.
In addition to it, another special flight operated by a foreign airline bought back 186 stranded Pakistanis from Dubai and landed at Multan airport on Thursday night.
The passengers were screened for
COVID-19 symptoms and have been placed in an isolation facility on temporary
basis.
