Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood has announced that matric and intermediate examinations will be held across the country in June.
The development comes as Shafqat Mahmood chaired an inter-provincial meeting of education ministers over the issue of examinations amid prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country.
The forum has decided to hold examinations of classes 10 and 12 in the third week of June, whereas the date-sheet of exams will be announced by relevant boards.
The federal minister reaffirmed that the exams will be conducted with strict COVID-19 SOPs and that student will not be promoted without exams.

Meanwhile, provincial governments have been given the power to decide over the issue of summer vacations.
Furthermore, Shafqat Mahmood has called on all federal units to ensure that teachers and staff are duly vaccinated against COVID-19 coronavirus.
The forum also mulled over the handing over of staff of Basic Education Community Schools (BESC) and National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) schools to provinces after June 30.
It is pertinent to know that earlier, NCOC to hold professional exams and tests across the country. Prior to it, government had announced to hold o hold intermediate and matric examinations after June 15th.
