Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani has announced that matric and intermediate examinations in Sindh will be held during July-August time period.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi on Saturday (today) provincial education minister Saeed Ghani apprised that students will not be promoted without examinations this year.
Announcing the examinations schedule Saeed Ghani announced that matric board examinations will be held from July 1st to July 15th, whereas intermediate exams will be conducted between July 28th and August 16th.
Practicals for matric, intermediate will be held prior to examinations. Furthermore, examination timing has been reduced to two hours.
In addition to it, Sindh Education Department has altered exam pattern with ‘objective section’ constituting to 60%, short questions – 20% and long (detailed) questions – 20 %.
Meanwhile, examinations for classes from pre-primary to grade 8 are scheduled to be held in June.
Strict COVID-19 SOPs, and preventive measures will be implemented during examinations and academic process/classes, said Saeed Ghani.
Saeed Ghani also announced that new academic year will start from August 2nd 2021.
Expressing his views on COVID-19 statistics, education minister noted that around 7,000 teachers have been tested for COVID-19 in colleges, of which 233 tested positive for the novel virus.
