Punjab government has announced to revise the operational timings of malls, markets and shops after Eid holidays across the province
According to Mian Aslam Iqbal – Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce, has stated that the operational timings of malls and markets will be limited from 9 am to 5 pm, whereas confectionery shops will be allowed to remain open from 9 am to 7 pm.
Meanwhile grocery stores, milk shops and bakeries will be allowed to remain open throughout the week.
Furthermore, Mr Iqbal has also announced that production facilities and factories related to automobile industry will be allowed to operate throughout the week, whereas showrooms will be limited to operate four days a week.
The provincial minister reiterated that shop owners and customers must strictly adhere to coronavirus SOPs and guidelines recommended by the government.
“Buyers will be screened through thermal guns and use of hand sanitizers, gloves and masks will be mandatory,” he noted.
It is to be noted that Punjab has reported a total of 21,118 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 6,185 recoveries and 362 deaths so far.
