A top rank Army officer of the Indian Army shot himself dead in Khanmoh outskirts of Indian occupied Kashmir’s capital of Srinagar.
Sources privy to the development claimed that the Lieutenant Colonel allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Khanmoh Depo at the army base.

On hearing the gunshots, some soldiers rushed to the spot and found him in a pool of his own blood. Later, he was shifted to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The deceased has been identified as Lt. Colonel Sudeep Baghat Singh.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and have sent a police party on the sight of the incident to spot and ascertain facts to initiate further investigations in this regard.
This incident raised the number of such deaths among Indian troops and police personnel in the occupied territory to 491 since January 2007
