Lahore High Court (LHC), on Friday, rejected the petition filed against online classes, declaring it unfit for hearing.
As per the details, the petitioner had highlighted the lack of internet service in rural areas and has sought to review the online classes being conducted in the province.
The petition argued that students who have little or no access to sustainable and reliable internet coverage are facing significant academic loss as educational institutions are conducting online classes amid coronavirus lockdown.
Justice Ayesha A. Malik of LHC, turned downed the petition terming it ‘unfit’ for hearing.
Earlier, on March 30, Punjab government had announced the initiative to conduct online classes in educational institutions across the country amid coronavirus lockdown.
It has been decided that Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) will facilitate universities and colleges to develop comprehensive plans, implementation strategies, and capacity building programs for the promotion of online teaching and courses in partnership with MOOCs, Coursera, and EdX.
