Lahore High Court (LHC) has suspended session court’s decision which directed FIA to register case against Pakistan Cricket Team Captain Babar Azam over harassment allegations.
As per details, LHC has suspended session court’s decision and has directed Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to submit its response regarding the case within two weeks.
The court has also issued notice to the Hamiza Mukhtar – who has accused Babar Azam of harassment, to appear in person or present her stance via her lawyer on the next hearing.
The development comes as Babar Azam had challenged session court’s decision directing FIA to register case against him under the cybercrime law on the harassment complaint.
During the hearing, Babar Azam’s lawyer stressed upon his client’s innocence and argued that the trial court failed to listen to Babar Azam’s point of view in the case.
Meanwhile, the complainant Hamiza Mukhtar has also accused Babar Azam of threatening her on WhatsApp via different contact numbers.
Mukhtar has said that she’s being blackmailed by the suspects who are threatening to upload fake pictures on social media.
It is to be noted that Hamiza Mukhtar had accused Babar Azam of maintaining illicit relations and that the latter had made false promises of marriage.
She has also accused the Pakistan cricket team captain of abortion back in 2015.
