Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday, directed the authorities to take necessary steps to stop the sale of plasma of coronavirus patients amid virus crisis.
During a case hearing regarding the sale of plasma of coronavirus patients in the province, government officials acknowledged that plasma of coronavirus patients is being sold in the province.
Chief Justice LHC expressed displeasure and reprimanded Secretary Health, directing him to ensure the provision of all the necessary and essential measures to stop this practice and take effective legal action against those involved in this heinous crime.

The development comes as Advocate Arshad Virk had earlier filed a petition in LHC seeking for a ban on the sale of plasma at high rates amid COVID-19 outbreak.
It is pertinent to know that plasma – which is rich in antibodies, is taken from the blood of patients who have already recovered from the disease and can help other patients recover substantially at a faster rate than with various traditional treatments.
