Farukh Ahmed Shah, the son of PPP leader Khursheed Shah, on Wednesday, secured interim bail from the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC), in assets beyond means case.
As per the details, MPA Farukh Ahmed Shah had filed a petition in Supreme Court seeking for an interim bail in assets beyond means case being investigated by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against him.
Upon reviewing the petition, the top court has granted interim bail to Mr Farukh, directing him to submit surety bond worth Rs2 million for the bail.
It is to be noted that Shah reached out to SC after Sindh High Court (SHC) had rejected the bail pleas of both him and his father Khursheed Shah earlier.
NAB has been investigating various cases of corruption and financial mismanagement against the Shah family. Last year, in September, Khursheed Shah was arrested by NAB in assets beyond means cases. In 2013, Lahore High Court (LHC), had directed NAB to launch two corruption investigations against Khursheed Shah. While this year NAB has launched nine corruption probes against various individuals, including Khursheed Shah.
