An Accountability Court in Lahore on Wednesday (today) extended Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) Khawaja Asif’s NAB remand by another 10 days.
During the hearing, National Accountability Bureau (NAB), contended that Khawaja Asif has in fact transferred money into a company account registered under the name of his servant.
Responding to NAB’s accusations, Khawaj Asif’s defence counsel said that the money which PML-N leader is accused of illegally transferring has in fact already been declared officially by Khawaja Asif.
Furthermore, NAB has accused Khawaja Asif of failing to provide necessary details regarding transferring of Rs 130 million and that the PML-N leader has also failed to provide bank statement pertaining to his salary from a Dubai based company.
The court then extended Khawaja Asif’s NAB remand for another ten days.
Khawaja Asif was taken into custody by NAB in December 2020 last means in matters pertaining to assets beyond means case. The PML-N leader was sent on 14-day remand in NAB’s custody.
