Advocate Khalid Khurshid is set to become the next Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister after Prime Minister Imran Khan approved his appointment for the key post on Friday (today).
The announcement of Khalid Khurshid’s approval for Gilgit-Baltistan CM was made by Saifullah K Nyazee – PTI Chief Organizer.
Khalid Khurshid was elected the member of Gilgit-Baltistan assembly from GBLA-13 constituency in Gilgit-Baltistan in the November 15 elections.
Prior to this, PTI’s Amjad Ali Zaidi was elected Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly by securing 18 vote, whereas advocate Ahmed was elected as Deputy Speaker by securing 22 votes.
It is to be noted that PTI had won 10 seats in Gilgit-Baltistan elections, following which another five independent candidates announced their decision to join the party as well.
In addition to it, PTI also has the support of the MWM, which has one general seat. Its 16-member strength is set to earn the party six reserved seats.
