Police on Monday (today) announced that they have found a DNA match in the rape and murder case of a 7-year-old girl in Khairpur.
As per details, 126 DNA samples were sent to Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences’ forensic laboratory for DNA screening in Khairpur rape and murder case.
Police has identified Abdul Larik as the prime suspect for his DNA has matched with that of the samples taken from the victim’s.
The suspect is a relative of the 7-year-old victim.
The development comes as earlier, 7-year-old girl was abducted last week. Local police had recovered her dead body two days later in Hadal Shah village.
An initial postmortem report confirmed that the minor girl was raped and then strangled to death.
An FIR has been registered at Pir Jo Goth police station Khairpur under Sections 302, 376/2, 364-A and 201 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
