Sindh government has announced its decision to utilize Karachi Expo Center building as its COVID-19 vaccine center.
Dr Azra Pechuho – Sindh Health Minister, has said that Karachi’s Expo Center which was being used as a filed isolation center for COVID-19 patients, will now be converted and used as COVID-19 vaccine center.
The provincial minister noted that the work on cold chain and other relevant measures, arrangements is underway and will be completed in near future.
As per details, health department has already issued directions to compile data of healthcare workers serving on the frontlines against COVID-19 coronavirus.
COVID-19 vaccine will be administered to healthcare workers free of cost.
Prior to this, Sindh government on December 18th last month, had announced its step-wise plan regarding administration of COVID-19 vaccine.
Coronavirus vaccine will be provided healthcare workers, followed by the second phase in which people above the age of 60 years will be vaccinated.
In the third phase, people with underlying conditions, whereas general public will receive COVID-19 vaccine in the fourth phase.
