Two girls are said to have been drowned in deep stagnant rain water in Karachi’s Ghahar Pathak area.
The girls aged nine and 13, are said to have been killed after drowning in deep stagnant rain water in the area.
The children were playing when they purportedly fell in a nearby ditch that was filled with rain water.
The deceased’s dead bodies have been recovered by rescue workers and residents, and have been shifted to a local hospital.
It is to be noted that around 41 people died in recent rain spell in Karachi.
Most of the reported casualties were due to drowning in various storm drains across the city, whereas several people including women and children died after a wall collapsed in Gulistan-e-Johar area due to landslide after heavy downpour on August 27.
Meanwhile, five people who drowned in Qayummabad drain are still said to have been missing.
Karachi has experienced six rain spell this monsoon season with unprecedented record rainfall that resulted in urban flooding across the metropolitan city.
