The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that Karachi might face another heat wave next week starting from Sunday.
According to PMD, has warned that the heat wave is expected to last from Sunday till Saturday next week, with the temperature reaching up to 42 degree Celsius.
Furthermore, the flow of sea breeze is expected to stop during daytime hours, while hot winds from desert areas around the city are expected to further contribute to the heat intensity in the metropolitan city.
Prior to this, Karachi has already witnessed a heat wave last week from May 5 to 8, with the temperature soaring up to 41 degree Celsius.
Health experts have advised people from abstaining from going out in public and covering their heads when doing so.
PMD’s prediction of heat wave in the last week of Ramazan is alarming, as people have rushed to markets and shopping centres for Eid shopping due the previously imposed coronavirus lockdown across the province.
