Karachi: Karachi police has begun closing down restaurants and cafes due to coronavirus threat.
Several restaurants in the vicinity of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Rashid Minhas Road and Kiamari have been directed suspend their business temporarily. However, small tea shops commonly known as ‘dhaba’ are being exempted from the shutdown.
Earlier, Sindh government also directed wedding halls and shrines to be closed due to the virus pandemic.
Pakistan has registered a total of 53 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 35 cases reported in Sindh. The Sindh government has issued multiple advisories and is cautioning people to avoid public events and gatherings.
