Six more policemen of Sindh Police force diagnosed with COVID-19 as the total provincial tally of coronavirus cases reach 2,767
Another six policemen have tested positive for coronavirus in Karachi, increasing the total number of affected police officers to 15.
As per the details, police officers including inspectors and constables stationed at Bahadurabad, Gulshan e Iqbal, Kalakot Civil Lines and Memon Goth police stations have tested positive for the novel virus.
Earlier, on April 13, Karachi police Chief Ghulam Nabi Memon announced that seven policemen were diagnosed with COVID-19 and were being treated at isolation centres established by the government of Sindh.
Additionally, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, presiding over a meeting of all divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners, had issued instructions to completely seal the coronavirus hotspots if needed.
He noted that local transmission of the virus was on the rise in the province. Deputy Commissioners have been tasked to conduct screening of people for the virus in their respective districts.
Sindh has reported a total of 2,767 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 635 recoveries and 61 deaths so far.
